About Coffs Harbour District Family History Society Inc.
The Society was founded in 1984 and is a not for profit organisation whose aim is to promote the study of family and local history and genealogy and to encourage and promote the collection and preservation of records relating to the history of the Coffs Harbour district.
Coffs Harbour is halfway between Sydney and Brisbane on the Mid North Coast of NSW, Australia.
The research rooms are at 169 Rose Avenue, Coffs Harbour NSW 2450 Australia and are open for members and visitors on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. Monitors are on duty during opening hours to help with research. Monthly workshops are held and include at least two seminars each year.
The Society’s research room has an extensive library of worldwide resources in different formats: computer based resources, books, CDs, microfilms/microfiches and an internet connection with access to findmypast and other facilities. The Society is also an affiliated Library for Family Search (LDS) films.

Ordering copies of documents
Coffs Harbour District FHS Incprovides a research service which can be undertaken for non-members for a small charge and enquiries are welcome from all areas of Australia and Overseas. Members who reside more than 50km from our research rooms can have two hours research carried out on their behalf free of charge.
