Search Ireland, Non-conformist births & baptisms

This collection is comprised of several different registers of births and baptisms from Ireland’s non-conformist churches between 1701 and 1913. Non-conformist refers to Protestant churches that were not aligned with the Church of Ireland.

Each entry includes both a transcript and an image. The information provided on each transcript will vary depending on where the records originated and what details were provided, but most will include a combination of the following:

• First name(s)
• Last name
• Denomination
• Gender
• Birth year and date
• Birth place
• Baptism year and date
• Father’s name
• Mother’s name
• Parent’s address / residence
• Townland, Parish, and county

Images will sometimes provide additional information, such as the name of the individual who officiated the baptism. Some of the images are in French as they are from the registers of French non-conformist churches in Dublin.

• Ireland, Down, Anaghlone Presbyterian baptisms, 1839-1913 – This record set contains baptismal records of the 1st and 2nd Presbyterian congregations of Anaghlone (Annaclone) near Banbridge, County Down, in Northern Ireland.
• Ireland, Down, Ballyroney Presbyterian baptisms, 1819-1913 – This record set contains baptismal records of the Presbyterian congregation of Ballyroney near Banbridge, County Down, in Northern Ireland.
• Registers of the French Non-Conformist Churches Dublin 1701-1831 – Published by the Huguenot Society of Great Britain and Ireland in 1901, this volume, edited by Thomas Philip Le Fanu, had a print run of 450. The introduction to the volume is highly informative, explaining the meaning of the title Non-Conformist Church, their relationship with the Conformed Church, as well as some of the history of the Huguenots in Dublin. Covered in the publication are the two congregations of Peter Street and Lucy Lane. Even though the original records are in French the genealogical data can still be easily extracted.
