The United States Census of 1890 was taken on June 2, 1890 however a fire in 1921 destroyed most of the 1890 US Federal Census.
This index was created by the volunteers and staff of the Idaho State Archives to assist researchers seeking information on those residing in Idaho in 1890.
Using federal, state and local government records, local newspapers and nationally distributed genealogical publications, they have attempted to identify as many people as possible who resided in Idaho from 1885 to 1894.
Records from Ada, Alturas, Bannock, Bear Lake, Boise, Cassia, Custer, Elmore, Idaho, Latah, Logan, Nez Perce, Oneida, Owyhee, Shoshone and Washington counties have been indexed using births, marriages, deaths, wills, land and tax records, court records, mining and water rights, naturalisations and citizenship.
