Kenneth Leighton Kesteven
by Lynne Smith
Story 90
My father, Kenneth Leighton KESTEVEN, M.C., won his decoration in the Battle of Greece & Crete, when he led his platoon down to safety through German lines, despite being wounded. He did this because his C.O. was wounded, and he took control of the fellows and got them past the Germans to safety. He was also made a Lieutenant.
