William James Urquhart
by Felicity Podger
Story 162
My father, Lieutenant (Engineer) William James Urquhart, a New Zealander, served in the Royal Navy 1917-1921.
He was torpedoed in 1917 whilst aboard HMS Avenger.
Prior to joining the Royal Navy he served aboard several merchant navy ships.
The photo is of William in his navy uniform.
