Musicians' Company apprenticeships

The records of this company are deposited at the Guildhall Library. Though there are records from 1740 giving the names of apprentices and masters only, the first detailed register covers 1765-76, and the second 1777-1877 (GL Ms 3094/1-2). Abstracts have only been made to the end of 1800.

Unlike many other companies, it is not possible to recover details of other Musicians' apprenticeships from the court minutes since these only start in 1772. Renter wardens' accounts 1712-54 survive (GL Ms 3091) but also do not give the required details (unlike a few Companies).
